I’m a bit reluctant to post a comment about how good these guys really are, in case everyone starts to use them and I can’t get a car when I want one! . Thank you for your email, I’m surprised we only left 1 sock behind we had so much stuff! We went with your company because you had the cheapest rate by far. We certainly appreciated the baby seat , free half day and free airport pick up and drop off. The easy and friendly service was also very much appreciated, especially with a baby, 2 children and Nan in tow.
Last year on a school trip from Bay of Islands to Hastings we went with a cheaper rental company but unfortunately we received particularly bad service. Because of this I double checked your website before I confirmed our booking and was confident that we would be okay.

During our recent trip to NZ, we rented a car from a small firm based in Dunedin, Get Away Car Hire Ltd. They were considerably less expensive than the major rental firms. The car we rented was clean, in good condition and the firm was very flexible as to pick up and drop off. After spending three days on the rail trail and finding ourselves in Dunedin on a Sunday evening I was grateful to find a company that provided a pick up at a location other than at the airport which would have required us having to add at least an hour to our travel time and a taxi ride from the train station to the airport just to pick up our vehicle.
We would not hesitate to recommend Get Away Car Hire Ltd as we were really impressed with the service provided, the quality of the car and the rates charged.
Dawn and Bob could not have been more helpful and we will definitely use them next time we visit Dunedin and need car hire.

Snow-trapped visitors praise hospitality
A BIG thanks to the Red Cross who supplied us with blankets and quilts when we were stranded at Dunedin airport. Though the floor was hard at least we were warm. Also, we would like to acknowledge the kindness shown by Dawn and Bob, from Get Away Car Hire in Mosgiel, who, on the second night organised a motel for us, picked us up from the airport and took us back to the airport and offered more help if we didn’t manage to get on the next flight—fortunately, we did. This was not part of any business deal but purely generosity of spirit.
